Special activities for Fourth of July weekend
No fireworks displays in Monterey County this year. There is lots to do, though!
Among the Fourth of July weekend activities is a parade in Seaside, a new fair in Marina, music in the park in Carmel, Colton Hall lawn party in Monterey, and much more! One of the new activities is a celebration open to the public and hosted by the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa.

On the hotel’s lower terrace, home of HER Helmet Thursdays participant Schooners Bistro by the Bay, there will be a barbecue and live music with a country and western band on Fri night, 5-9pm. Sat includes a street fair on the upper plaza (see photo below) from Noon to 5 pm, followed by live rock, country, and rhythm & blues. The celebration continues at the upper terrace on Sun, beginning at Noon, followed by soul music at 5 pm.
For details on the Monterey Plaza Hotel celebration and the above-mentioned local activities and more throughout the county, see this Monterey County Herald story.
