Salinas Valley Criterium

Move over, Green Vehicle.
While it’s cool that you fit in so well with eco-friendly travel, all bike rack space will be needed soon.
Other green travelers will be flocking to town for the
Salinas Valley Criterium
This racing event, with the initial race at Moffett Industrial Park in Salinas, is coordinated by Grass Roots Cycling. What is Grass Roots? Simply a small, informal group that puts on cycling races, such as the Salinas Valley Criterium, licensed by USA Cycling. The races are officially promoted by Pedali Alpini, legendary USA Cycling racing club, with Pan Am and Olympic team members, national champions, and lots of NorCal champions.
Details available at http://www.grassrootscycling.net/SalinasCrit.html – Phone 831/442-VELO (831/442-8356).
The first race on July 11 will be at 8:00 am, and the last race of the day is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
There will be races for riders in most ability and age groups.
And the Salinas Valley Criterium includes a free children’s bicycle rodeo and races presented by the Salinas Police Activities League.
