The goals of Bicycling Monterey™ are to raise awareness of Monterey County as a great place to cycle, and to help make MoCo one of the most bicycling friendly places in the country! The HER Helmet Thursdays™ project helps meet these goals, while it benefits the environment and economy.

HER Helmet Thursdays’ sister project, Tips for Tourists (and Others) Bicycling Monterey County©, expanded to serve both our tourists and local residents. HER Helmet Thursdays was created for locals and visitors right from the start.

How does HER Helmet Thursdays work?
H-E-R businesses and organizations give a discount to cyclists on Thursdays.
At the H places, BYOB (bring your own bicycle) or rent a bicycle anywhere in Monterey County.
At the E and R places, walk in with your helmet in hand, to show you’ve biked to that venue.

- This is a private initiative, created and launched in Monterey County as a community service project.
