Revisions to the Bicycle Sharing Feasibility Study by the Transportation Agency for Monterey County have been completed. Revisions have been made to this study based on the comments and questions provided to TAMC.

The study will be presented to the TAMC Board of Directors at its March 27, 2013 meeting, which is held at the Monterey County Agricultural Commission Conference Room (1428 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA 93901). The Board of Directors meeting begins at 9:00am. The TAMC Board agenda, including staff reports, is posted to the Agency website (http://www.tamcmonterey.org/committees/tamc/meetings.html ).

A copy of the revised study is posted to the TAMC website and can be accessed using the link below:

TAMC has drafted responses to the comments and questions provided them, including comments made on the draft study at the November 28, 2012 meeting (photo above). Those responses can be viewed by clicking the link below.  The list of responses notes where and how the draft study has been revised based on the comments.

Draft Bikesharing Feasibility – 11-28-13 Public Comments

No action is being requested by the Board of Directors on March 27. The Board will be asked to receive the study and a staff presentation on the document.
The staff report articulates that staff is not recommending that TAMC move forward to implement a program at this time, identifies funding and operating support needed to establish a bicycle sharing program in Monterey County, and includes the comments made on the study.

The significant changes to the study based on comments involve identifying a Salinas bicycle sharing network, which can be established independently of a network on the Monterey Peninsula, should an agency or organization choose to pursue a program.
