Notes about posters: (1) Gender – Out of respect for people with other identities, we’re in the process of changing text on our HER Helmet Thursdays posters and fliers, first created in 2009. We’re changing “males and females” to “people.” (Originally we’d said “males and females” to help get across that “HER” referred to Mother Earth—who benefits from more people biking—and to the primary types of places that participate in that project.) (2) Volunteer – Phone Bicycling Monterey if you’d like to volunteer to help update posters and fliers or to create new ones. (3) URLs – The Bicycling Monterey website is accessible via bikemonterey.org and alternate URLs, including bicyclingmonterey.com, which is on many older posters. To prevent broken links, the root URL for posts and pages remains the original URL marilynch.com/blog, as referred to on some of the Spanish posters—e.g., http://marilynch.com/blog/resources/en-espanol(4) Contribute – To make a contribution toward printing items for community outreach—or to contribute to other Bicycling Monterey projects—please click here
