Matt Champion steps up to the podium at his first Sea Otter Classic, 2019

When Monterey County native Karin Strickland was a young girl, she moved with her parents to their home state of South Carolina. It was in the Carolinas that Karin, an outdoors adventurer, met a fellow bicycling lover who would soon become her partner in life, Matt Champion.

In 2019 Karin and Matt made their first trip to Sea Otter Classic. Now Matt will take back to their home in Brevard, North Carolina a medal for his performance in a stiff SOC Cross Country competition: Pro CAT 1 Men (ages 30-39), 2nd place, coming in just 43 seconds after the top racer! Check out the results:

Congratulations, Matt Champion!

When Matt isn’t at work, he’s in the saddle more than he’s on social media. Still, see a few scenes from Matt’s bike life at: http://www.instagram.com/mchamp_88/
