About the venue

The Monterey Bicycle Film Festival venue is Museum of Monterey at the Stanton Center, 5 Custom House Plaza, in the City of Monterey. This bike-friendly HER Helmet Thursdays spot is located directly along the historic, car-free Custom House Plaza.

Museum of Monterey, affectionately known as MoM, meets multiple criteria for a special outing–history, art, waterfront, downtown, and bike-friendly to boot! People who bike, walk, skate, or run will love that Museum of Monterey is  located directly off the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail. Drivers will find downtown parking lots and garages make Museum of Monterey easy to reach as well. You might also consider doing the bike-and-ride!

Since May 11 is Mother’s Day, you may want to treat your mom to a double-feature at MoM on Sunday. (That’s after you’ve brought your mother breakfast in bed, of course, or treated her to her favorite restaurant, spa, or other spot.)

Did you know? The plaza’s Custom House is recognized as the oldest government building in California. That’s why Monterey’s  Custom House is honored as California’s State Historic Landmark #1!

When it’s a quiet day in this open space, children of all ages enjoy the simple treat of circling around the fountain. What a healthy treat! Dr. Hugh Stallworth would surely agree!

Common sense dictates when that is not appropriate, e.g., when people are gathered in the plaza for a special event.
