To really know Monterey County, take time to go beyond the typical tourism destinations such as the Monterey Peninsula’s Carmel and Pebble Beach, or the Big Sur coast, or North County, or even John Steinbeck’s hometown—the county’s largest city and county seat, Salinas. Explore the Salinas Valley and its cities and other communities, including Gonzales, Soledad, Greenfield, King City, San Lucas, San Ardo, and more.
The Bradley community will be welcoming thousands of visitors to their area on May 4-6, 2018. That’s when “The Woodstock of Triathlon” comes to the South Shore of Monterey County’s popular fresh-water recreation area, Lake San Antonio, for the 35th Annual Wildflower Triathlon Experience.

Wildflower’s cycling events include: May 5, Long Course Triathlon (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run), Mountain Bike Sprint Triathlon (.25m swim, 9.7m bike, 2mi run); May 6, Olympic Distance Triathlon (1.5k swim, 40k bike, 10k run), Sprint Distance Triathlon (.25 swim, 20k bike, 5k run).
This three-day festival in South Monterey County features live music. On the schedule are bluegrass, jazz, rock, country, reggae, and swing bands including Moonshiner Collective, Mother Corn Shuckers, GhostMonster, Shawn Clark Family Band, Mark Adams, Kevin Graybill, and Where’s Sweeny.
