Golden Helmet Awards – Nominations Process
To help kick off Bike Month 2017, the Transportation Agency for Monterey County’s Golden Helmet Award program is back. And this year there will be four Golden Helmet Award winners.
Nominations must be received by noon on Friday, March 24, 2017.
For 2017, TAMC has modified the Golden Helmet Award program to include four categories, and there will be a winner for each category. As advised by Ariana Green of TAMC, “The focus is more on bicycle advocacy than just recognizing a bicycle commuter and also recognizes youth involved in bicycling. There is no limit to the number of nominations an individual may send in.”
The four categories:
- Adult individual

The Golden Helmet Award, as part of the 2011 Monterey County bike week events, will recognize a Monterey County resident for his/her dedication to bicycling to and from work.
The aim of this award is to highlight the benefits of bicycle commuting and inspire others to utilize alternative transportation modes. The winner will be recognized on April 27, 2011 at the Transportation Agency for Monterey County’s Board of Directors meeting, and will be awarded a $100 gift certificate to a local bike shop of their choice.
