These San Francisco Bay Area visitors, Derrick Chao and Kyle Ingebretson, were glad to learn about Monterey County’s  resources and projects benefiting local and visiting cyclists!

Lalla Grill at the Del Monte Center, Monterey proudly announces their support for a more bike-friendly Monterey County with this HER Helmet Thursdays sign displayed at their front-door hostess station.  Lallapalooza on Alvarado, Monterey and Lalla Lounge/Elli’s in Salinas are also HHT leaders.

Section II:  Announcement posters/fliers to download

Many retail store windows, hotel concierge binders, employee and community bulletin boards, and other places throughout Monterey County already display these posters and share the fliers.  Join them! Download these items and make them available at your location, too.

All resources are provided in PDF format, ready to print.  If fonts and formatting do not appear to be correct when displayed on your computer,  please contact me (831-375-6278).

“Tips for Bicycling Monterey County” posters/mini-fliers are also available without mention of HER Helmet Thursdays (see Posters 3a/b).  These are especially for those H-E-R businesses and organizations not yet in the project.  Questions?   Please  contact me, 831-375-6278.

Lists every H-E-R Charter Participant, along with a concise description of the project.

Announces Tips for Bicycling Monterey County, the free online guide useful to visitors and residents.  It also announces HER Helmet Thursdays.

Poster 3a (8.5 x 11)  - Tips for Bicycling Monterey County (PDF) - Especially useful to non-HHT participants.

Announces Tips for Bicycling only.

This was especially created for those H-E-R locations—Hotels, Entertainment/education venues, and Restaurants—who are not yet in the HER Helmet Thursdays project, and nevertheless, are also enthused about sharing Tips for Bicycling Monterey County with visitors and others.  (You may wish to ask if they’ve heard of HER Helmet Thursdays, and let them know that they are welcome to become a participant.)

Mini poster/handout 3b - Bicycling Monterey – Tips – 4-to-a-pg mini – black-and-white Especially useful to non-HHT participants.

Abbreviated announcement of Tips for Bicycling guide.  These 4.25 x 5.5 announcements are formatted to print four-to-a-page on 8.5 x 11 paper (or card stock). They are particularly helpful for concierges, front desk staff, parking attendants, and others at a non-HHT establishment that nonetheless loves to share cycling info with their guests.

Copy and paste the following link (or links from any of the above PDFs) and email  to travel agents, cycling clubs, civic groups, friends or business associates planning a trip, and others.  Please contact me for ideas or for help with links, widgets, and so on.

Make a window washer love you

Wonder where to get that wonderful removable and reusable tape for hanging posters in windows?  It can be hard to find.  One Monterey County store that stocks it is Alpha Stationers, 221 Forest Ave, Pacific Grove; 831/372-4388 (no website).

Fishwife at Asilomar, Fishwife in Seaside, the Fishwife’s Turtle Bay in Monterey and Turtle Bay in Seaside all display their HER Helmet Thursdays posters.

As shown below,  a special “Participant” HER Helmet Thursdays logo is also available for the participating business and organizations.  It is available for their websites, as well as in versions for print and other media.

This 8-1/2 x 11 poster may be laminated or framed and displayed.  Some participants print it on clear or white decal paper–voila! a window decal.

Many lodging providers also add it to their concierge binder, alongside the Tips for Tourists Bicycling Monterey County poster.

This 8-1/2 x 11 poster is for “E/educational/entertainment and “R”/restaurant participants, and related venues, such as wineries.  It may be laminated or framed and displayed.  Some participants print it on clear or white decal paper–voila! a window decal.

Displaying the posters prominently…

helps build a reputation for Monterey County as one of the most bike friendly places in the country!  Please help in this regard.  The posters may be framed or otherwise displayed.  Some people like to laminate them.

One more option:  In section II above, you’ll find Poster 1, which lists all Charter Participants.   If you are a Charter Participant and your logo is not on this poster, please email me a jpg image of your logo, and I will be happy to prepare a custom poster for your location.  Contact me with any questions.
